Some electric chairs can recline to an flat position, these chairs are know as a chair bed. You will also need to consider how high the chair will raise to aid exiting the chair. Consider the purpose of the chair if you are looking for a chair to sleep in consider a chair bed, if you are looking for a chair to aid exiting then consider the height to which it raises. Some chair will raise you to an almost standing position.
Yes. You should consider your size before buying. Both your height and weight can determine the type of chair your purchase. A chair for a short person may not offer the right levels of comfort for a tall person. Most chairs will also have a maximum weight, therefore this must be considered.
Modern riser recliner chairs are electrically operated by pressing the relevant button on the handset. The control can be used to raise and lower the chair. When the chair is in the seated position the handset can be used to raise the chair to the maximum height enabling you to perch on the seat an lower to the desired position. When you want to stand up press the relevant button and raise the chair to maximum height to exit the chair.
Controls for the chair can have as little as two buttons to control the up and down action of the chair. For more luxurious models of which may have features such as a heat and massage system as well as dual motors, the handset will have more buttons. Riser Chairs usually come with one or two motors. If you are content with the footrest and backrest adjusting at the same time then a one motor chair would most probably be suitable.
