Stairlift Rental Northampton.
Today has been a busy day full of Northampton Stairlifts. We started the day fitting a rental stairlift in Kettering. This was a straight set of stairs so we fitted a new style Acorn 130 Superglide. The customer had a socket fitted at the bottom of the stairs the day before. This was perfectly located and meant the stairlift installation went in without any problems. The customer had recently had a replacement knee and was struggling with the stairs. The stairlift was fitted and demonstrated within two hours and we were off to our next appointment.

Our next visit was also in Kettering and to a man who could no longer manage the stairs to his upstairs flat. It was a straight set of stairs but had a sub landing at the top which was very narrow. This would mean that the chair arm would catch the newel post when it was turned so we advised him to have a false step fitted on the sub landing which would allow the straight stairlift to travel up further and past the problematic newel post. It also would mean that he had no steps to climb at the top and instead could walk straight across to his bedroom door. We explained how to measure the stairs and he watched with interest as we carried out a simple survey with drawing. Due to the Xmas period we agreed to return and fit it after the new year once he had the step and a power point fitted.

After that we travelled across country towards Daventry to look at a Brooks stairlift that had stopped working. The stairlift was around 8 years old showing a H4 fault code. We knew from experience with Brooks stairlift fault codes that this was batteries and on inspection we found that the batteries were swollen and had lost all power. We fitted a fresh set of batteries and the stairlift started working again. We were asked to carry out a full stairlift service whilst we were there. We found that 2 out of the 4 stair brackets were loose and the bottom hinge cover kept falling off. We screwed it on and showed her that it would never fall off again and she was delighted.
After that we headed home. It was already dark and the rain hadn’t stopped so we managed to beat the rush hour traffic and get home safely in time for tea.
